Last month saw the first of our Wine & Yoga evenings with instructor Katy Dennison—and it was fantastic! So much so that we’re happy to announce that Wine & Yoga will be an ongoing monthly series. The February session is on Saturday, February 16th at 6pm.
The Wine & Yoga evenings are about gathering together for fun and meaningful exercise, then subsequently relaxing with some healthy nibbles and lovely wines. Sounds tempting, doesn’t it? (Hint hint: this class would make a great Valentine’s Day gift! Or better yet, come as a couple!)
Instructor Katy Dennison has a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and is an AFAA certified personal trainer. She began teaching yoga about four years ago, and her current focus is on sports yoga. What’s the mean, exactly? It means that you’ll be in no danger of falling asleep during the class!
While there are many different methods of practicing yoga, Katy’s style is well suited to the kind of yoga that is as good for accomplished athletes as it is for the beginner. Her classes build muscle tone as well as lengthening and stretching the muscles.
People with a wide variety of yoga experience came to the last class, and everyone had an equal amount of fun! “The fun thing about group classes,” says Katy, “is people come because they’re interested, because that’s what they want to do. It’s not like at a gym, where people come because they have a membership. Everyone at the last class wanted to be there, and it was a fun atmosphere.”
Class is held in the Gallery, one of our four private rooms. All you need to bring is yourself (in comfortable clothes!) and a yoga mat—everything else is provided! After the class, attendees head on down to Tessa’s Office for wine and nibbles. It’s a rewarding way to spend a Saturday night!
Tickets are $40 per person and include the lesson, wine, and light appetizers. Give us a ring at 507-292-1628 to reserve yours!
