The Söntés Spring/Summer Gallery Exhibition (S/SGE) includes twelve artists whose work will be on display at Söntés through September. As all of the artwork is for sale, it will move around in the restaurant as replacement pieces arrive. The next time you dine with us, and every time, feel free to move about the restaurant and take in the more than 80 pieces of artwork we have on display.
Wander. Absorb. Our house is your house.
Sculptor Richard Brubaker was chosen for the Söntés Spring/Summer Gallery Exhibition (S/SGE) for his skill in combining aesthetic qualities of nature with the idealism of human design. He has been creating metal sculpture for about 6 years; before which, he practiced medicine at the Mayo Clinic for 30 years.
Brubaker’s work was included in the first “Palette to Palate” June 18, 2009 at the Rochester Art Center. Some work has been sold at the Callaway Gallery and auctioned at various charity events. Publicly viewable pieces are also located at the Olmsted Medical Center, the Adult Care Center of the Salvation Army, the Biobusiness Center, and the Mayo Clinic. His piece, “Healing Embrace,” was created under a grant from the Minnesota Regional Arts Council and presented to the Olmsted Medical Center as part of their building dedication ceremony. A piece entitled “Unbridled Gratitude” was commissioned by the Development Department of Mayo Clinic as a gift to Dick Jacobson, the donor of the Jacobson Building now under construction in downtown Rochester.
Brubaker works from an art studio on a farm near Rochester, Minnesota. His avocations include wood working, metal machining, and welding. He has fabricated over 150 pieces of metal art, of steel and aluminum.
