As the summer winds down (and gets warm again?), we thought it’s high time we take a look back over some of our recent Söntés adventures…

Summer began, you remember, with a cold snap that lasted for weeks. But that didn’t stop us from planting the Uprooted Garden on our rooftop! While our “Tomato Alley” burst on the scene rather quickly, many of the other herbs, veggies, and fruits took a lot of TLC from Tessa to start to thrive. Since July, we’ve been serving our own-grown rooftop fare on our Lunch and Dinner menus (and some herbs have offered bursts of flavor in our craft cocktails, too!).tent

Söntés served up chicken paella, chorizo and veggie empanadas, and Tessa’s secret formula sangria at the Last Annual St. John’s Block Party, at Rochester Pride Fest, and at every Thursdays on First. Our little red tent has been everywhere this summer!

Inside the restaurant, we gave you the comfort of our traditional Meat and Potatoes, gourmet pizzas, and homemade ice creams, while simultaneously offering Chef Trevor’s Tasting Menus every Tuesday, featuring adventurous flavors from around the globe. This summer, Chef tackled Hawaii, the Philippines, Germany, France, Morocco, and even our own Midwestern cuisine. At Lunch, Chef Adam danced his way Lava Cakeinto our hearts with his delicious homemade soups, Chicken Bruschetta, and Black Bean Burger, not to mention his Chocolate Lava Cake.

Libation-wise, we kicked off May with Champagne and Cheese Curds, offering guests complimentary fried cheese curds with every bottle and/or glass of champagne. Bekah invented her refreshing vodka cocktail, the Bekah Bomber, and Barbara taught cocktails, French wines, and even a Pinot Camp during her Wine Classes.

Our Director of Marketing and Events, Karen, has helped you plan proposals, weddings, groom’s dinners, birthday and anniversary parties, showers, family reunions, paella parties, catered lunches and dinners, and every idea you could dream up under the sun or moon. For all of your “Must Go Right” events, talk to us!

All summer long, Söntés has created something fresh and delicious for every appetite, every occasion, indoors or out. Thank you, one and all, for making this the best summer yet at Söntés!

Fall, here we come, and we’re not slowing down! Söntés has great fall plans in store for you, both at our restaurant and on location.

On Thursday, September 12, our Bar Manager Darrell will represent Söntés at Festive Mixology on the Peace Plaza. In addition to his holiday competition drink, “Santa’s Nightcap,” Darrell will also serve up two summer cocktails and two fall cocktails, so you can choose your season! The recipes are a secret, per the contest rules, so you’ll just have to stop out in person to try them (and vote for Söntés!). The winning cocktail will be served at the Festival of Trees this year. Festive Mixology starts at 5:30, and tickets are $10 for food, or $20 for food and drink tasting combined.

nero grapesOn Saturday, September 14, Söntés will host our highly-anticipated Italian Wine Dinner, with 7 courses paired with 7 wines. The menu includes steamed clams, braised beef shank, and oyster mushroom ravioli among the courses. We’ll blog about the full menu (located on our Happenings page) next week!  Italian Wine Dinner begins at 6 p.m., and the cost is $75 per person. There are limited seats available, so please call us to reserve your place at the table: 507-292-1628.

Söntés is pleased to serve Dinner in the Garden at Whitewater Gardens on Sunday, September 22. The event starts at noon and dinner will be served promptly at 2 p.m. Dinner includes five locally-sourced courses for $50/person. Proceeds go to Whitewater Gardens Farm to assist in growing healthy food for Winona Area Public Schools Garden Spot program. Tickets can be purchased at Söntés or from Whitewater Gardens (cash or check only). Call Whitewater Gardens for more information: 507-932-5225.

New artwork is arriving at Söntés! Our current exhibition will be exchanged out to make room for our Fall/Winter Gallery Exhibition. (That’s right; the time to buy your current favorites is at hand!) To kick things off in style, we are hosting a Gallery Reception at Söntés on Sunday, September 29. Join us for the first glimpses of the new art and to mingle with the artists!

Join us for these events and more! We’ve planned the fall season with delectable style!
