Shake off the October chill! Curl up by the fireplace with one of our handcrafted cocktails and this Söntés trivia:

Did you know that Söntés does not have a microwave?

You read correctly: not one in the entire building. If you get a phone call during lunch or dinner, your server will ask the Chef to keep your plate in the oven. If dessert gets interrupted so you can say hello to friends at a nearby table, we’ll simply bring you a fresh cup of hot coffee. At Söntés, we nuke nothing!

WVDid you know that our building used to be a bank?

Built in 1867, it was the Union National Bank, and it sat on what was then known as the Union National Block. We even have four working vaults in the building currently, including our Wine Vault with shelves and display cases full of wine bottles. The Wine Vault can seat 2-6 guests, so call us anytime to reserve your own private dining experience among the bottles!

Did you know that about 60% of the Söntés main floor staff is not native to Minnesota?

Tessa’s hand-chosen staff represents 3 countries and 7 U.S. states in terms of where we were born. From near or far, our experienced staff members were all drawn to Söntés for its fresh ingredients provided by our local Minnesota farmers. Our team brings its love of distant lands together with the best of hometown pride for a deliciously memorable dining experience for you.

Did you know that our cuvée case behind the bar is one of two in all of Minnesota?

Cuvee“Cuvée” comes from the French term cuve, meaning a vat or tank. Our wine bottles are opened, tasted, and then immediately resealed into the cuvée system, allowing air to touch the wine only those brief moments between opening and re-sealing.  On the cuvée, the wines are kept at set, appropriate temperatures, and dispensed from push levers into lead-less crystal glasses.

Beautiful and functional, our cuvée allows us to serve and keep fresh 40 wines by the glass. Beer and bubbly fans, don’t feel left out: Under the cuvée is a series of refrigerators perfect for our 40+ bottled beers, 15 champagnes, and 12 dessert wines.

Now that you’re “in the know,” come and dine with us, and take full advantage of this inside knowledge. From our experienced staff, to Tessa’s extensive wine and beer selections, to our beautiful private dining areas and fresh, local foods made the “old fashioned way,” Söntés is sure to delight your senses and warm your heart.
