Söntés first opened its doors in November 2006. We can hardly believe how the restaurant has turned into this action-packed adventure ride, now careening toward our seventh anniversary. From Tessa and all of us here at Söntés, thank you for letting us do what we do. We couldn’t do it without you!Thank You

When we introduced tapas-style dining in Rochester seven years ago, it was no easy feat. But thanks to you and your found love of meaty empanadas, chorizo stuffed dates wrapped in bacon, and scratch-made egg rolls, the tapas have become staple items! Söntés dared to bring you fresh, farm-to-table dining, and you agreed with us that eating local and fresh delights the senses with bright, natural food flavors. Tessa brought you homemade (well, street-made) chicken paella every Thursday in the summer as part of Thursdays on First and Third, and you came to our red tent every week to get our gourmet street fare. We hosted wine classes and you signed up with your notebooks and pencils ready to hit the wine. From our first-in-the-nation Straw Bale Garden on the rooftop to our multi-course dinners created to showcase wine pairings (or beer, or Mezcal, or bacon-infused pairings), your belief in Söntés’ quality and our ideas lets us expand our horizons time and time again. We have so many fond memories of you and our events together. Thank you for every one of them!

By the same token, whenever you have had a major life moment, from a birthday, anniversary, graduation, reception, wedding, retirement, holiday party, you have invited Söntés to host and/or cater the occasion for you with our signature style. It means the world to us that for your special occasions, the memories that will last a lifetime, you have asked us to be there. We’re deeply honored, always, to be a part of your lives and to make sure the details go just right.

Thank you for coming to Söntés with your outside-the-box ideas on social gatherings. We’ve had so much fun these past seven years with you! We remember very fondly the party themed around the movie Office Space, an Irish-Persian wedding reception followed a few years later by a christening party, Chef Trevor donning a kilt for the Robert Burns dinner, and a party where guests sang “Happy Birthday” in eight languages before heading into a private room we converted into a Latin dance club for the night. Thank you for letting us create events that reflect who you are!

In honor of you, come and celebrate these seven memorable years with us at our San Sebastián Anniversary Party tonight, November 29, from 5 p.m. to closing time. Here’s to many more delicious, adventurous, and heart-warming years to come!
