Twelve regional artists were chosen to showcase their work at the Söntés Fall/Winter Gallery Exhibition, which runs through March 2014. Among the twelve, three work with acrylics:

Becky Kehrwald, Lori Miller, and Susan Waughtal.

Let’s take a moment to get to know these artists through their art, their awards, and their own words:

Becky Kehrwald

Sparks_of_Light“[I] work intuitively, layer by layer, in playful discovery. Delicate flowers, multi-colored leaves, repeating circles, and abstract shapes unfold through a bold and free-spirited approach to painting.”

Of her numerous representations and accolades:

Kehrwald advanced from the Preliminary to Semi-Final Round with Chef Jared Norris from Minneapolis Town Hall Brewery in “Iron Chef” type format competition against 11 other visual artist / chef teams in the 2013 Uptown Art Fair: Kitchen Window Culinary/Visual Arts Competition in Minneapolis. Kehrwald’s work is represented in numerous galleries, including Foxglove Market & Studio in Saint Paul, Krista Artista Gallery in Anoka, and Bibelot Shops in Minneapolis and Saint Paul.

Lori Miller

Little Blondie

“I enjoy anything in life that encourages me to find the beauty in it.”

Of her art shows and accolades:

Miller had her own art show in June 2013 at the C4 Creative Salon in Rochester, and has participated in various group shows there as well. Miller has been approved and selected by the South Eastern Minnesota Visual Arts (SEMVA) council in Rochester.

Susan Waughtal

Waugthal Outbuildings in Winter

“Painting is a collaboration of my hands, eyes and heart. Sometimes my brain tries to get an idea in edgewise. You won’t find a lot of angst in my artwork. Painting is my way of sending a little thank you card to the universe.”

In lieu of awards and accolades, Susan writes:

“All of my life I have been drawing, painting, and making things with fabric, wood, glass and recycled stuff.  Now, I am working on my most ambitious and wonderful creation yet – a farm.  [The farm] honors its heritage, balances dirty with sublime, preserves and restores the land, incorporates artistry and music, and celebrates with the community.  [It’s] a place where we are approaching life as art.”

The Söntés Fall/Winter Gallery Exhibition runs from September 2013 to mid-March 2014, and all of the pieces are for sale. The next time you dine with us, and every time, please feel free to explore the different artwork from room to room. Wander. Absorb. Our house is your house.
