Twelve regional artists were chosen to showcase their work at the Söntés Fall/Winter Gallery Exhibition, which runs through mid-March 2014 (only two weeks left!). Among the twelve, three work in Mixed Media:

Le Ann Gehring-Ryan, Ingvild Herfindahl, and James Scherbarth. Let’s take a moment to get to know these artists through their art, their awards, and their own words:

Le Ann Gehring-Ryan
Crow 11
“I am a painter who gathers inspiration from life situations.  I enjoy putting a thoughtful, sometimes humorous spin on my personal view of the world. Recently I have begun a series centering around old photographs of my family and myself. Thanks to George Eastman for putting photography ‘in the hands of everyone,’ and my family for being so darned photogenic.”

Of her numerous art shows, recently:
Le Ann has shown her work at “The Next Step” Art Center of St. Peter in Minnesota at a joint show with Charlie Putnam in May 2013; at the River Rock Coffee House of St. Peter in 2011; the Carnegie Art Center, Recent work Paintings, Mankato MN: joint show with Charlie Putnam, February 2011, and the Owatonna Art Center, Solo show Paintings, December 2010.

Ingvild HerfindahlHerfindahl L is for Lemon
“I pull inspiration from nature and the world all around me, incorporating different and unexpected ideas into my work. I work mostly with stained glass, but include other items in certain mosaics to bring in more depth.”

Of her awards and accolades:
Ingvild has won first and second place awards two years in a row at the Dodge County Fair’s Fine Arts category. Her work was accepted into the 2012-2013 easel: Experience Art in Southeastern Libraries traveling exhibit, and was displayed in 13 area locations. Her stained glass and mixed media mosaics are also available at the Mantorville Art Guild.

James Scherbarth

Scherbarth Rising 2
“Through an intuitive process of constructing and deconstructing, of collecting, blending, erasing, blurring, marking and clarifying, I discover the image, the story within, and the emotion and history behind it.”

Of his numerous art exhibitions and projects:

In September 2013, James’ work was shown at the NEMAA Fall Fine Arts Show, and in 2012 he received an Honorable Mention Award at the 36th Annual Juried Members Show in Bloomington, Minnesota. In 2012, he opened a cooperative gallery in the Northrup King Building in the NE Minneapolis Arts District called LAYERS. James has self-published two books, Echoes Off the Wall and Digital Daydreams 1.0.

The Söntés Fall/Winter Gallery Exhibition runs from September 2013 to mid-March 2014 and all of the pieces are for sale. That’s right, there are only two weeks left for this artwork to grace the walls at Söntés. Now’s your chance to make that “certain something” your very own.
