Welcome to the world of pintxos! These small snacks are typically eaten in bars in northern Spain, and of course we’ve got them at Söntés! The word pintxo (“peen-cho”) literally means thorn or small spike—they’re named for the toothpick used to fasten the food to a small slice of bread or toast.

photo-3At Söntés, we offer a variety of pintxos at our bar and lounge: marinated olives, Manchego cheese, chorizo dates wrapped in bacon, empanadas, calamari, egg rolls—some of the very best of Söntés, made into bite-size portions to delight your senses. The combinations are endless: Try them with a tap beer, a martini, or a glass of wine. Select pintxos are served on top of a slice of house-made, grilled French bread, like the calamari or poached egg, while others come just as they are without the bread, like the empanadas and chorizo dates.

These gourmet snacks are available to our bar and lounge guests during all business hours: at Lunch on the weekdays from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., during Happy Hour Monday through Friday from 2 to 5 p.m., and all night and weekend long during dinner. With prices ranging from $3 to $9 per dish, you can certainly please your belly without breaking the bank!

If you prefer to eat at one of our dining tables, you can still cash in on the pintxo madness, with a unique twist. Chef checks with the hostess every night at 4:00 to see the reservations scheduled for the evening. All reservations on the books as of 4:00 get a special pintxo snack planned by Chef. These pintxos are only for reservation tables, but Chef makes each person their own little snack (whether you dine alone or with a dozen of your closest friends, everyone gets one), and Chef changes them nightly to suit his creative whimsy. Recent pintxos have included salmon mousse on crostini, beef tartar, scallop ceviche, scratch-made hummus on grilled bread, and, oh how the list goes on!

Do you follow a gluten-free diet? Are you a vegetarian? Or do you have an allergy to a certain food? Let us know when making your reservation and Chef will accommodate you, right down to the pintxos. This personalization is just one of the many things we do at Söntés to go the extra mile for your dining experience.

Stop in to Söntés any day, anytime, and discover the toast of Spain!
